Cost

The students at LungA School pay tuition to attend the program. The tuition for each program will be announced when the application opens. This includes food and accommodation during the program. It also includes materials used in the workshops and most materials used for the students’ own work.

Usually the price for the 12 week program ’84’ is between 500.000 and 550.000 ISK

Age

There is no age limit at the LungA School so everyone are welcome to apply, however most of our students are between 18 and 30 years old.

Accommodation

All students live at the school facilities in Seyðisfjörður. We live together as in a commune and take care of the house together.

How is Seyðisfjörður?

Seyðisfjörður is not a big town – but it is a great town! And in spite of it’s size it has an indoor swimming hall, a cafe, a supermarket, a bar, a hospital, art residencies, a golf course, skiing possibilities, a cinema and much more.

Transportation

Depending on where you are coming from in the world, the traveling options are quite different. Here you have a few commonly chosen possibilities:

Plane

If you arrive from abroad you will have to go from Keflavik Airport to the domestic airport which is located in the city of Reykjavik. Airport shuttle buses depart regularly from Keflavik and will take you there. Then you take a domestic flight from Reykjavik to Egilsstadir and then a 30 min bus ride to Seyðisfjörður. Voilá. (use www.momondo.com or other similar search engines to find the cheapest price)

Car

Whether you drive south or north around Iceland it is approximately a ten hour drive (with eating and peeing breaks). For this option you can either go with a bus or you can rent a car. LungA School students get a special price at Kúkúcampers.

Boat

A wonderful two-day sail trip will take you from Hirtshals, Denmark directly to Seyðisfjörður. On the way you will also come by The Faroe Islands and have a few hours to spend there. The trip can be a bit rough during late fall and winter. (www.smyril-line.com)
